And gave new life to what was frozen..

So let's see if I can remember how to do this.

Over the past few years, my life has changed beyond all recognition. I'd like to think that underneath the changes, I am still the same person I've always strived to be. Someone who is kind to others is incredibly important. After all, being kind and polite costs nothing.

I am 26 years old, I live in North London and really, I'm still finding my way in the world. What it is that I was sent here to do. Whilst I don't proclaim to be religious, I do believe that we are all sent here with a purpose and a journey. Rightly or wrongly, events in life do pull us off these journeys and it's up to us to get back on track. Life is not about the end point, it's about what has happened in between the beginning and the end.

Guiding is something that has recently re-appeared back in my life. So I'm sure that will crop up a few times! I am a qualified (recently!)  Brownie and Guide Leader! I am Guider-in-Charge at 4th Friern Barnet Guide Unit and I assist at 4th Friern Barnet Brownie Unit. I had the best time in Guiding when I was a child, so it's great to be able to give back to the next generation. It's something that I am still very much finding my feet. The Summer Term will be my first term as the Unit Leader for Guides so ask me when term ends how it's gone. I've got big shoes to try and fill!

I'm fortunate to be blessed with a small but perfectly formed family who still live in my home county of Leicestershire. I sadly lost my Dad just over 2 and half a years ago to Prostate Cancer. It's something that you never get over and I'm still finding ways to get through everyday.  I also have two beautiful Basset Hounds called Harriet and Holly, who never fail to make me laugh.

I've not had the best run of luck over the last couple of years, with one thing or another.  The important thing that I try to remind myself of is, I'm still here and I'm still blessed to be here every single day. I have friends and family who are determined to keep me on the straight and narrow, and I owe it to them to fight every single step of the way.

I've been enjoying a wonderful quality of life over the past 6 months, and long may it continue!

Hopefully some more normal, day-to-day, type blogs to follow! But then, what's normal?!
